Authentic eatery to bake up pizza perfection in Dallas’ Preston Hollow Village

The ambiance is that of a fine dining restaurant, but the price is decidedly more casual.

Pizza lovers who rejoiced when MidiCi, the authentic Neopolitan eatery, first arrived in Texas now have another reason to cheer: a third location is opening in Preston Hollow Village.

Known for its signature pies and welcoming vibe, the fast fine dining restaurant flourished in Fort Worth’s West 7th district and Dallas’ West Village and is now prepping a seat at the table for visitors just a little further north of downtown.

Located on the ground floor of the new Douglas luxury apartment building, across from Orangetheory Fitness, the Preston Hollow Village MidiCi is anticipated to open in October.

The brand cooks up certified authentic Neapolitan pizza, the kind that’s famous for its chewy and crisp dough and is made from only four ingredients: non-GMO double zero flour imported from Naples, pure water, sea salt, and live yeast.

They top it with all-natural garnishes, including crushed Italian peeled tomatoes, whole fresh mozzarella, and Italian extra virgin cold-pressed olive oil. The most impressive part? The authentic ovens bake each pizza to perfection in just 90 seconds.

The menu runs from classic pies like Margherita and house pesto to specialty pizzas such as the Hawaiian, the Egg ‘n’ Bacon, and the spicy bestseller, the Devil’s Pizza. Since its very name, MidiCi, means "you tell me," customization is encouraged.

Amazing burrata dishes (think melon and prosciutto), fresh signature salads, mouth-watering calzones, authentic Italian gelato, and the famous Nutella calzone round out the offerings.

The fast fine dining atmosphere means that you order at the counter, select a table, and then the MidiCi team takes it from there. This provides the design aesthetic, ambiance, and quality food of higher-end eateries, but without the formality (and prices) of actual fine-dining restaurants — for example, 12-inch pies start at only at $9.50.

At the bar, craft beer is selected by a certified cicerone (beer chef) and the collection of wines reflects a mix of American classics, flavors of Italy, global highlights, and local staples — all with pizza pairing in mind.

Besides those awesome ovens in the open kitchen — which is called "the heart" — the Los Angeles-based brand has a few other cool hallmarks. A live black olive tree holds court in the center of the dining area, and a focal wall proclaims "people are the best thing that can happen to anyone." Well, people and pizza, you could say.
